About us

MaDOx

The Oxford Centre for Monitoring and Diagnosis in Primary Care (MaDOx) is a research programme funded by the National Institute for Health Research (NIHR) based in the Department of Primary Care Health Sciences at the University of Oxford (PHC).

Our aim is to improve monitoring and diagnostics used in Primary care and Community settings.

The team includes research groups with complementary expertise in diagnosis and monitoring from Primary Health Care. Engineering Science, Paediatrics and Health Economics at Oxford University, along with the Department of Primary Care and General Practice at Birmingham University, the University of Leicester the Netherlands, Belgium, and Spain. This expert group will be a reference point and source of advice for diagnostic methods and new technological innovation in primary care.

We are part of the Monitoring and Diagnosis Group (MaDox) at Oxford University Department of Primary Health Care. We are funded by the National Institute for Health Research (NIHR) and collaborate with with National Horizon Scanning Centre, Birmingham as well as the Department of Engineering Science and the Health Economics Research Centre at Oxford University.
