Michael Geary - Co author of Horizon Scan Report 0013 - Point-of-care test for cardiac troponin.
Michael is from Rochester, New York and is a chemistry major at Williams College, in Williamstown, Massachusetts. He spent his junior year at Exeter College studying abroad through the Williams-Exeter Programme in Oxford, during which he worked with the Department of Primary Care. Michael will be continuing with medical school after finishing his undergraduate degree in the Spring of 2011. In his spare time, Michael enjoys whitewater kayaking and trail running.
Health economics input from Giselle Abangma HERC Department of Public Health, University of Oxford.
Giselle joined the Health Economic Research Centre in November 2007. Giselle has a first class honours degree in pharmaceutical science studies, an Open University certificate in promoting health, an MSc in health promotion and public health from Brunel University and an MSc in health economics from York University.

Ibrat Djabbarov - Co author of Horizon Scan Report 0012- Point-of-Care International Normalised Ratio coagulometers for self-management of oral anticoagulation.
Ibrat joined the MaDOx team as an intern while he was enrolled in MSc Global Health Science at the Department of Public Health, Oxford University. As a medical student he developed a passion for evidence-based practice in health care and initiated the first evidence based medicine training for medical students and junior doctors in his home country of Uzbekistan.

Gary Parkes - Co author of Horizon Scan Report 0015- Spirometry in primary care for COPD case finding, self-management and remote technology.
Gary is a General Practioner in hertfordshire with a special interest in COPD and lung capacity. Gary gained his PhD from UCL in 2009, and the same year pipped his PhD supervisor Professor Trish Greenhalgh (UCL Primary Care & Population Sciences) into second place in the Royal College of General Practitioners’ (RCGP) Research Paper of the Year Award 2009.

David Nunan & Emily McHale - Co authors of Horizon Scan Report 0014- Estimating central blood pressure and arterial stiffness in primary care using non-invasive automated pulse wave analysis.
David is the Research Officer for the HyBeT study and has an interest in evidence-based medicine and the role of exercise in Primary Health Care. Emily is an Academic Clinical Fellow in the Department of Primary care Health Sciences, University of Oxford.

Rachel Ward, Merlin Wilcox & Giselle Abangma - Co authors of Horizon Scan Report 0018- Point-of-care testing for Hepatitis C virus
Rachel graduated from Trinity College, Cambridge in 2002 with a BA in medical sciences and then completed her MBChB at theuniversity of Edinburgh, graduating in 2005. After 2 years in Edinburgh, Rachel worked in Melbourne, Australia, developing her interest in surgical oncology at the Peter MacCallum Cancer Centre. On returing to the UK, Rachel began surgical training in Oxford but changed course to GP training with a view to becoming an academic GP with a speacial interest in early cancer diagnosis and surveillance.
Dr Merlin Wilcox is a GP and Clinical Researcher with interests in the care of vulnerable people, global health and traditional medicine.

Nick Denny & Dan Lasserson - Co authors of Horizon Scan Report 0019- Point-of-care B-type natriuretic peptide testing
Dr Dan Lasserson is a GP and Clinical Lecturer with research interests in cardiovascular disease prevention and management of long term conditions. His main area of reseach is the presentation, diagnosis and processess of care for patients after transient ischaemic attack (TIA).
Nick is a fifth year medical student, currently at St Catherines college, Oxford.
