The following resources were developed as part of a systematic review into the normal variation of heart rate and respiratory rate in children from birth to 18 years (Lancet 2011; 377: 1011-1018). This research resulted in the production of centile charts for both heart rate and respiratory rate in childhood, which differ considerably from existing reference ranges.
